| As a Direct Repair Facility, IFM actually steps into the role as the insurance appraiser. Upon contact by IFM with you/their insurance company, we receive an assignment directly through a computer link with your insurance company. This assignment allows IFM to appraise the damage on your automobile as per the guidelines of your insurance company, take digital pictures and download this information to your insurance company. This is the entire appraisal process, complete and virtually instantaneous. | |
| At this point, IFM immediately orders your parts, can immediately begin repairs on your automobile or schedule a more convenient time with you. During the repair process, if additional damage is found, we simply take additional pictures, note the damage and continue with the repair. If this were not a Direct Repair assignment, we would have to contact the outside appraiser, stop work, wait for their phone call or possible visit and eventually their approval for the additional work. This could translate into a potential time delay of 2-3 days. | |
| Upon completion of the automobile, we finalize our appraisal which becomes the final completed bill for your insurance company. The final bill is uploaded with digital pictures via the computer, the automobile is delivered to the customer and IFM waits for final payment (not the customer.) Your responsibility is primarily your deductible. | |
| If your insurance company has not yet developed a direct repair program as above, the steps are more complex and usually take more time. However, our professional and expeditious staff will handle all of these concerns. We will arrange the appraisal inspection at IFM, monitor the claim review process, negotiate an agreed repair process, seek approved supplements if necessary and verify issuance of final payment. All this will be accomplished by our staff, not the customer, as well as always maintaining our high quality of repair standards. | |
